Please read before selecting a date:

There are a few things to note before considering which date to select below.

1. If you are choosing a Friday night, the location can be changed to wherever in Connecticut you would like. You will be the only family that night, so there are no restrictions as to where you hold the session. It just must be in Connecticut. The location indicated below is my suggestion based on the time of year.
2. If you are choosing a Saturday night, the location can only be changed if there are 3 half hour options still available that evening. This means no one has selected a session that night yet. Having said that, you must be able to tell me when you book the date where you would like the session to be held, and it can only be changed to one of the following locations (Bauer Park in Madison, Chaffinch Island in Guilford, Chatfield Hollow in Killingworth, Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Fitzgerald Walking Trail in Woodbridge, Gouveia Vineyard in Wallingford, Hammonasset in Madison, Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Lake Wintergreen in Hamden, Machimoodus State Park in Moodus, North Branford Open Fields, Southford Falls in Southbury, and Westmoor Park in West Hartford). Here’s why. I will be photographing other families that evening, and I need to ensure that I can update this document immediately with the new location. Also, the location has to be public so everyone can access it, and it must have enough shade to work with so that the first family that evening gets just as good of a result as the last family that evening. An hour and a half before sunset I need to utilize shade to block the sun as the lighting is still a little harsh where as a half hour before sunset the sun has set enough that the lighting is softer and I can roam freely without the need for shade. The locations I listed above all have adequate shade to work with for that first half hour session. Please note, the only dates where the location can not be changed are Saturday, October 10th, 17th and 24th. These are all peak leaf changing Saturdays, and I have specifically picked the locations identified as they are some of the best for this very special time of year.
3. Please make sure when selecting a date that you aren’t just available for the date selected, but also the rain date indicated. If you are choosing a Saturday night, the rain date will be the Sunday evening of the same weekend. If you are choosing a Friday night, you will notice it has both the Sunday of that weekend and the following Friday mentioned for the rain date. If you were to book a Friday night session, and it rains, ideally, we will use the Sunday of that same weekend, as a backup however, if it rains on the Saturday of that weekend also, which is when I have three families I need to reschedule, the Saturday night families will use that Sunday, and then we will use the following Friday for your rain date. If the designated rain dates do not work for you, and a Monday-Thursday evening from the week after your session would work as a backup rain date, let me know, as I can make that work too. Please note, for Friday, October 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th, the rain date would either be the Sunday of that same weekend, if the Saturday night sessions don’t need it, or a Monday-Thursday of the following week. Again, please make note of these rain dates to make sure they work for you before booking.
4. If a Monday-Thursday night would work better for you to hold your session, let me know. I can most likely make it work if I still have availability around the time of year you would like.
