Lighthouse Point Park - Connecticut Photographer - Maternity Session

It's rainy weekends like this one that are always fun to try and navigate when there are shoots scheduled. I watch my weather app like a hawk, which always changes from minute to minute, sometimes even drastically. When trying to predict the perfect time to shoot on a particular day, I can go from trying to find breaks in the rain, to all of a sudden trying to dodge harsh sun. The weather around here is always keeping me on my toes! The day we had the following maternity shoot scheduled, it was very much the same situation. Days before there was a threat of a wash out, things looked more promising as we got closer, and the day of there were still minute to minute changes in the forecast. A couple hours before the shoot the weather was perfect, a sky filled with clouds yet no rain, I was overjoyed, and then when we arrived, those clouds disappeared and out came the sun in full force. You would think that’s a good thing, but bright sun is a challenge to shoot in. It all magically fell into place though. Not long after we got there, the clouds rolled back in (ahhhh...yes...thank you!), and we had beautifully diffused sky to work with for the rest of the evening. I couldn’t be happier because this meant I had the reign of the beach to use to capture this stunning, soon-to-be, family of three!
